"In addition to the reliable delivery of our baked goods for several years, REICHHART has been supporting us in all logistical matters and has shown us potential for optimisation. For us as a medium-sized company, this means not only reduced daily workloads, but also sustainable cost savings."

Heinrich Traublinger, Managing Director of Traublinger

Tradition and future – the modern artisan bakery and confectionery Traublinger combines both. The slogan "Geschmack hat eine Backstube" (Taste has a bakery) spells out their philosophy – at Traublinger, great importance is attached to craftsmanship and taste. Success has proven the bakery right: Traublinger has received awards ranging from the State Honour Award to the Gold Prize of the Stollen Examination.

In addition to the actual core business, the successful industrial bakery has to master complex logistical challenges: for example, about 100 branches or resale outlets need to be supplied with fresh baked goods on time several times a day. Doing this with its own resources proved to be extremely time-consuming and cost-intensive for the bakery company, so it decided to work with REICHHART Logistik in 2005.  The logistics expert developed a tailor-made logistics concept especially for Traublinger, consisting of an optimised transport concept and upstream picking activities.

As part of the transport concept for the busy Munich area, REICHHART is relying, among other things, on the intelligent use of suitable vehicles. In the Munich city area, for example, Sprinters are primarily used to deliver the baked goods: they can easily transport the required volumes, are more agile in city traffic and can be loaded and unloaded quickly. Trucks, on the other hand, are only used for the delivery of large quantities to peripheral areas outside the city. REICHHART Logistik also aligns route planning with the core factors of cost optimisation and cut-off time (provision of goods).

To make optimum use of synergies, REICHHART employees also take over the commissioning of baked goods at the Traublingen headquarters even before loading and delivery. REICHHART ensures that its own employees meet all requirements with regard to handling and transport safety by providing training in accordance with the German Foodstuffs Ordinance. This also relieves the workload of employees in Traubling, who can focus on their core work: the production of baked goods. This is a win-win situation for both sides, which will also strengthen the regional partnership in the future.
